years ago. Or even ten years ago.

But you're correct in observing that we must be persistent and unwavering in our demand for full equality.

Nor should we forget that the struggle for equality by the African-American community continues to this day, over a half-century since Brown v. the Board of Education struck down the notion that "separate but equal" was acceptable, and over forty years since the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts.

Keep up the good work in Arkansas! And don't forget that Little Rock was one of the key battlegrounds that helped lead to the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts.

You're right in every aspect.  Arkansas has a lot of progressive history and organizations, the Little Rock desegregation you mention being a great example.  In the case of Arkansas, progressive groups need to organize and work harder to get their messages out, so I'm trying to get Blue Arkansas off the ground.  It's a small blog right now, but I have plans to grow it and, hopefully, open a door for the netroots in the Natural State.
