    The Honduran Constitution, based on my readings of it, contains no provision for impeachment.  Article 272, however, does empower the military to intervene in politics.

    You're giving that Constitution too much credit.  It's an anti-democratic piece of shit, written at the height of the Central American civil wars to consolidate oligarchic rule and ensure that leftist politics gained no toehold in the heart of the USS Honduras.

    The oligarchy is using its provisions today exactly in the way they were originally intended.
