    Elvis was as much a marketing phenom as a musical one.  Thus his influence at least transcended the entertainment world. Along with this, he had a sexy stage presence that was new for a white boy.

    The Beatles' influence also transcended entertainment, into other arts and politics. They also had tremendous cultural influence on later artists, up to this day.

    Michael Jackson's achievement is very much within the entertainment world. As an artist, his skill set was more impressive than Elvis or Lennon. MJ danced and performed choreographed pop to a greater level of excellence than Lennon or Elvis did with singing or playing. But MJ's most extraordinary effect was within entertainment.
