  •  All due respect... (7+ / 0-)

...but the statement that "Earle is the first serious Democrat to consider a gubernatorial bid" is inaccurate. State Sen. Leticia Van de Putte publicly mulled a run for several months, before bowing out and urging her colleague, State Sen. Kirk Watson, to run. Watson has said he'll announce his intentions later this summer. Watson is a good progressive, an excellent State Senator, and has made a statewide run in the past, for Attorney General in 2002. Some of us Watson supporters are hoping Earle will consider the Attorney General's race, though I daresay we'd all be happy to support Earle if he wound up as the nominee.

Barbara Ann Radnofsky has already announced for AG.  I have been holding off giving her any financial support because I thought Earle might get in there.

I have a lot of respect for BAR, but I think Earle would make a stronger candidate, and I think he might be stronger in the AG race.

      But hey, it's still early....
