    because I can't really separate out "the environoment" form certain other key issues.  As Dr. Barry Commoner made eminently clear back in the 70s, there is an iron triangle between economics, energy, and environment.  You can't talk about economics without talking about the key input of energy;  you can't talk about energy without discussing the environmental impact of energy production and use; and we can't discuss maintaining environmental quality standards without discussing potential economic consequences.  Only the holistic approach that acknowledges these interrelationships will allow for progress in any of these areas.
