    of bicycling, but now they're catching on to you. Warsaw in the 70s, that must have been an interesting trip!

      On the trip to Warsaw, I was with a group of French. It was absolutely fascinating.  

      I'm overweight.  I broke a lot of spokes on cobblestones in Poland.  

      I remember riding and passing families on a Sunday ride in the their horse drawn carts.

      I was with a guy from Alsace and we stopped at a home in Poland to spend the night.  The family allowed us to sleep in the parlor.  I still remember the two pictures: one of the Polish World Cup Team and the other of the Pope.

      I met my German wife in Carcassonne in the youth hostel.  I was bicycling across the south of France to pick grapes in the Gironde and Charente.

      There are times in politics when you must be on the right side and lose.
