    DoD, DoJ, CIA, Stimulus, etc. are being slowed down because it takes a while to replace and reassign Bush appointees who have been running the departments.  Bureaucracies are big and slow.  As Clinton learned when he got into this early in his administration, it isn't wise to start rumbles with entrenched bureaucrats whom you need to get the work done.  John Dean in a recent article (referring to the torture pix) said it took 18-24 months to get ones own people in place and/or develop functional relationships with the careerists.

      right after 9/11, hearing that some Arabic translators/interpreters had been fired for being gay.  How stupid was that?  Frankly, at that point in time, I'd have been willing to accept damned near anyone so long as they could understand the languages.  Oh, but we couldn't have those gays saving our sorry butts.  What a bunch of fools....

        just another way to throw monkey wrenches in the gears.  The less that was known or found out, the better for them.

        Torture is for the weak. After all, it is just extended wheedling.
