In your last picture, there is a dark shape just below the bubbles from the front whale, almost in the dead center of the picture.

Even on the larger version, I cannot quite work out if it is a fish or, seemingly more likely, a bird taking advantage of their left-overs.

I don't think you can tell from the photo (it's a bit blurry, even when blown up) but there were often birds around the whales, especially when the whales were driving fish up the water.  I think that one was a sooty shearwater.  In the first of the three, you can see what I think is the same bird, flying off to the left.

it looks like the throat is bagged out with all the water they intake. It's out to the right and the lower jaw is hidden.....I've seen it in other pictures elsewhere, amazing they have that much elasticity, but that's a huge volume of water and whoeever/whatever else is in there as well...fish, birds, beer cans, whale watching tourists, etc.
I can imagine someday there will be some human loon making a movie going all Jonah on us, and get a special suit made so he can get intaked in a bubble net feeding, sorta Jackass At Sea. Good video tho...assuming he gets spit up on the shore.
         Thanks Julie, there are terrif.

In 2002, the USFS spent $36 million on its Tongass timber sales program, and rec'd back just $1.2 million from timber companies.
