    Spector? Santorum? Santorum?

Do they not understand that they have won? I guess not.

See, this is why we jumped all over Nader. Because of this tendency to achieve perfection. It seems that they're going to achieve real power, and they're worried about pefection.

They seem not to understand that they may well drive people into the Democratic Party with these antics.

You know, it's only a matter of time before they turn on Bush and Rove. People like this are crazy. They also overestimate their influence and power. At best, they're on par with progressives, 20 percent of the population. Evangelicals go way beyond the fundie hard core.

But these people are about to make demands the GOP cannot grant. Sure, Rove used them, but he doesn't get that they're gonna want payment for their services and not with an appointment. They will expect real action and real results. Which, will, of couse, kill the GOP.

should we tell them? Nah. let them figure it out themselves.

...that this will kill the GOP.  The far right will furiously scream that the radical gay lobby and the liberals have thwarted them at every turn.  The media will help the far right amplify this message.  They'll use this pathetic sob story in the 2006 midterms and walk away with another five to seven Senate seats, and a huge bunch of seats in the House as well.

The Rove White House doesn't want a gay maariage ban; they want to be able to use gay marriage as the wedge issue that keeps on giving.  This is America, so they WILL get away with it.

The media are not in the pocket of the Far Right Fundamentalists. They are in the pocket of Corporate America. You just need to ponder the lesson of last Monday's MNF "skit". Sex sells and as far as I know Disney still has Gay Pride Day at Disneyland despite years of calls for boycotts.

The SCLM and the money boys who control this country have zero interest in letting the Ameri-Rethug Taliban gain any real control over anything. The latter will be protrayed as a bunch of know nothing throwbacks, which message will stick and sting because in large part they are made up of know nothing knuckle-draggers.

The five Senate seats at risk here over the long run aren't ours, they belong to Senators Chaffee, Snow, Collins, Smith and Spector.

The Fundies are trying to push a whole agenda through a 51%-49% gap, a gap that in my view owes its very existence to certain ballot counting machines and a defective campaign message. We are already seeing the blowback.

Security Moms turned out to be a reality, against all evidence they trusted Bush to keep them safe, he won this election in the suburbs. This doesn't mean those Moms are going to embrace an all out assault on Roe v Wade or the imposition of small town Alabama Baptist values on suburban America. The Fundies are overreaching here.

The media are not prepared to put on any version of an American burhka, these Taliban are Bad for Business, and so will be marginalized.

Thouroughly pissed and heavily armed, but marginalized. Watch out for mean-eyed white boys with crewcuts.

They're now fighting each other over the spoils.

May they rend each others garments, and find themselves naked and shriveled.
