  •  I think the first step is to get tenure. (none)
We folks in ESL are blessed, because our students' parents are by and large too damn' grateful to us to care about our politics. But I think a mainstream teacher would be ill-advised to show F911 during school time. Parts of it, possibly, as part of a lesson on propaganda analysis. But the whole thing, no. Not unless job security is of minimal concern.

The less a man knows about how sausages and laws are made, the easier it is to steal his vote and give him botulism.

personally, i'm not afraid to admit i'm scared of some of the administrators i meet. behind their smiling faces might be the mind of a fundie or repug.
      •  btw (none)
funny story: i am taking a class from an administrator...and she's a kossack too! "dailykos" is becoming a codeword for anti-fundies.
        •  Well, then present company excepted (none)
and I don't mean her, of course, but I've worked with dozens of principals and my verdict is that roughly 50% of them are mad as hatters.

A librarian gave me great advice my first year teaching: If you find a principal you like, follow her wherever she goes.

(NB: she meant school site assignment-wise. Not like you should track her down the dairy aisle at the Safeway or anyway like that.)
