    This simply isn't true.  There's a literature on facial mimicry among couples that shows that we respond to our environment -- those around us -- by mimicking their facial expressions, which leads our our building up muscles and letting others atrophy, all of which leads to different characteristic facial expressions.

    So we know it can happen, and from that we know that when we see an natural-appearing expression on someone's face, it's probably because they show that expression a lot.  We're especially sensitive to faces, and my guess is, to eyes, where a very small tightening of muscles conveys a whole lot of social information.

      Judging someone's character based solely on how they look in a picture is unreliable, foolish and just plain wrong.

      Do you agree that making judgments about someone's character based solely on their picture is wrong or not or not?

      If so, I have no beef with you.

      If not, I hope you can find something in that mimicry literature that suggests that any of that is a reliable indicator of what kind of person someone is.
