    who have spent a lot of time, money, and effort on opposing effective healthcare reform need to have the idiocy of their position rubbed in their faces for a few years, before they will begin to scream to be allowed to participate in a public option.

    If the eventual bill looks like this, expect the Chamber of Commerce to push like mad to expand the eligibility pool for companies to be able to participate in the public option...just because it WILL be cheaper, better, and more efficient.  

    Which I think would truly be a thing of beauty, but then I'm well known to have a low sense of humor...

        I think we get really close to single-payer, very quickly.  Which is where I would like to end up - single payer for the insurance end, and the actual provision of health care looking very much like it is now, because it clearly works pretty well when you remove the reimbursement question from the equation.
