to the left of Democrats.  They've been pulled so far right I can hardly stand them.  For instance, how many people in Obama's economic team didn't work for Goldman Sachs?  We need someone to keep them honest, and they've already got their right flank covered.

    •  Ummmm....... (0+ / 0-)

Geithner, Summers, for two who did not work for Goldman, I Think.  Of course, I get your point.  Birds of a feather, and all of that.  And certainly both of the swam in the same pond as Goldman.

Life is not a 'dress rehearsal'!

is that the Dems (hopefully without altering their policies too much) become the "conservative/corporatist" party, and that a genuine leftist/socialist party emerges as their primary rival.

I do think the Republican Party is broken beyond repair, whether the Bagdad Bob's in their corporate media acknowledge it or not. The fringies will be forced back to the fringes, and the corporatists will try to (further) co-opt the remaining major player.

I believe that the first step down that road would be to get the progressive left flank of the Democratic Party to start communicating with Greens/Socialists under the Social-Democrat" umbrella, particularly in the more left-leaning districts.

There is no goal in the "War on Drugs" that couldn't be more effectively met by legalization & regulation.
