I mean, she had to know more than we knew... And we knew bad things.

So where was the congressional outcry, the support for folks like us, who wanted transparency and accountability?

Her "impeachment off the table" was dreadful," and, of course, there have been a lot of D mice in line with her. Only the cheese stands alone! (And Jimmy Carter)

I also think the Yearly Kos (whatever its called now) event last summer took a big AIR swing at that one. Whoever it was who re-worked The Question for Pelosi (from that suggestion box thingie) about IMPEACHMENT, made the question so indirect and milquetoasty safe that there was no push at all from the allegedly prog blog community, no message that it was crucial to investigate and impeach. They effectively chilled the much anticipated "hot seat."

So, if that was the best that the Dem party's major "push" engine, on the nets, had to serve up, its little wonder she didnt step up.

Of course, our elected officials should act with integrity, even without the people push, but that's a very distant "should," given that even with a big push, they often ignore what is right for CW and CYA and $$$.

    Still, gotta push.

Should a "progressive" Dem blog dwell in the safe zones of a tame party, or should it drive a tame party to break out?

as admirers flocked to say hello after her appearance.  I shook her hand, looked her in the eye, and said "I have only one thing to say, Madame Speaker - Impeachment should be a Remedy, not a Strategy."  I could tell she didn't have a clue what I meant, and then her aide said to me "the remedy is to elect Barack Obama."    How's that workingo out on investigations so far?

60 is SUCH a great number.

      •  Ugh... what the aide said. (0+ / 0-)

Good on you, though. You did your best.

But it should have been a message with the force of the collective community behind it.

The "deciders" fell down on that one. Crazy! BIG missed opportunity.

I can only conclude that the question was manipulated more with Pelosi's comfort zone in mind than the necessity of investigations of war crimes.

Some value nice strokes with D folks more than is healthy.

        •  When I recounted my story to a Kos Woman (0+ / 0-)

later that night, someone whom I did not know but who was with Pelosi before her appearance before us, she said to me: "Why do you hate women?"  I didn't know we admitted female Pat Buchanan's into our midst.  That jerk has never come forward to admit it was her.

60 is SUCH a great number.
