    I looked at my Hamlyn Guide to Birds of Britain and Europe and had trouble finding a better match than a Buzzard, which is not only a buteo (not a Turkey Vulture), but Buteo buteo.  The species is also returning to Ireland after several decades of absence.  However, that still didn't look like an exact match; Buzzards don't have two dark bars on their tails.  Then I looked at the National Geographic bird guide.  The Broad-Winged Hawk looks just like the photo, including the tail bars.  IMHO, AAF should submit the photo to Birdwatch Ireland and see what they say.

      curious to check into it yesterday, but didn't have time in the morning.  I had to leave the house around 8, and didn't get home til close to 10 pm.

      But!  We saw a yellow-billed loon in Bodega Bay.  Very cool.

      They only call it Class War when we fight back.
