And the easy solutions to extraordinarily complex problems.

California already has a requirement for a balanced budget, and already sends property tax to the state to redistribute back to school districts, through very complex formulae. The Serrano Decision began the process of equalizing education spending.

There is a God, but he got an MBA. How else can you explain our world?

But you hear the california rants for a reason. Californians like to preach to people about how they should live, how they should handle problems.

But california had the worst pollution in the US. It has some of the worst crime in the Us. It only exists as it does today thanks to a massive water project to feed it. It drains every state around it dry of water resources. It uses its political power to dot the state with useless military bases yet i regularly see "red state welfare!" bullshit here.

I think californians are great and i love the referendum system (which has nothing to do with your financial problems. Getting SCREWEd by enron et al and paid for pols does though).

But Californians cant dish out the bullshit and not expect the favor returned.

PS if thats true shouldnt california have equal education across the board?

more tax money to the Fed government than we get back, and Californians don't really get that worked up about it.  At most, there's sporadic complaints.

Also, several CA military bases were closed in the last round. But CA has extreme terrain that's useful for training troops for desert and mountain environments, and is in relatively close range to the craziest country with an advanced missile program.  So it doesn't seem like the craziest place to have a fair number of military facilities.

Water is fair game, but we also bear a lot of costs for producing healthy produce cheaply for the rest of the country, given that it's defacto policy to have cheap labor from Mexico make that possible for stocking the shelves of Wall Marts around the nation.
