    Great pics.  Many thanks.

Will we recover in time to save sea ice?  Or even our planet?

    Peace.

I think the dirty secret is best seen in this analogy:

When someone drinks too much and gets alcohol poisoning, just stopping to drink doesn't help because there is more alcohol in their system which needs to be absorbed and cleansed before the patient improves. You can be lying there in a hospital room getting drunker and drunker just on what's in your stomach.

So it is with pollution: should we stop now, it would still be several years before the effects of our pollution began to cease. The system would still be impacted for several years, and will pass the tipping point. Not maybe anymore. Will.

We can curtail this by systematically destroying certain infrastructures and possibly figuring out how to jump-start certain earth systems, but we cannot stop or prevent it.

in your assessment, I know in my heart you are correct.  We have waited to late and caused far too much irreversible damage.  The issue facing us today is one of sheer survival as a species.  I fear more and more for my grandchildren and wonder if there will be generations beyond that one.

        Peace.

Can't give you numbers... but survival? Yeah.

But think positive! On the other hand, since when has a Human backed down from a challenge? (Don't even bring up the Democrats... sigh...)

resilience over the years.  Science fiction has long predicted the future we are about to live.  Once again we may see those scenarios coming true.

I remain a dyed in the wool, hardcore Democrat, but my disappointment is severe these days.  I keep hoping one day the public at large will get tired of being mistreated by their pols but until then hope is about all that remains.

            Peace.
