    Which underscores an oft-ignored truth about the Zionist movement: It was largely secular, and thus it created a schism within Judaism from the start. It's important not to consider Jews to be monolithic, and that's the error that Israel apologists[1] want us to make, and it's how they conflate criticism of Israel with criticism of Jews altogether.

    [1] As opposed to Israel supporters. I don't mean to imply that anyone who supports Israel is thinking this way; I'm only addressing those supporters who hide behind charges of anti-Semitism to avoid discussing tough issues.
