    tearing a US flag is unpatriotic and shows ingratitude for the fact that in this country we can protest. Unlike much of the Middle East.

      war protests. In Corrie's case, it had to be a pretty cheap facsimile of a flag. Ever try to tear a real one?

        And destroying flags in Vietnam was terribly counterproductive.  It played right into the hands of the pro-war crowd by making peace seem unpatriotic.  Most peace activists have learned this lesson or never did it in the first place.  Unfortunately, Rachel Corrie wasn't one of them.  

        When life gives you lemons, just say 'Fuck the lemons,' and bail
