I don't think it is very helpful or even possible to know about an adult men's fantasies. That should go into another diary.

What I would like to know is how and when the fantasies originated. For some reason, no scientist since Freud has tried to research this.

My premise is that sexual thoughts, preferences, sometimes obsessions start at adolescence or whenever masturbation starts.

I did not and do not suggest parents should know or ask what fantasies young boys have - unless there is a problem,  they don't need to know.

I meant: offer boys guidance. And not as some have suggested here, explain the mechanics of it, but discuss emotions, yes, a very delicate matter, but it can be done. Tell boys why it is important to not impose their sexual urges on others, (why it is not okay for example to expose yourself), tell them that it is safe and sane to masturbate, but to not let fantasies go into the realm of vicious or barbaric dreams. ETC.

except telling them what not to fantasize about.

Try not thinking about something...does it work?

      Nope.

The Amber Spyglass, by Philip Pullman, is an atheist's manifesto.
