    one we live in, but do you get a home ownership deduction for every home you own? If so, doesn't that favor the rich who own many homes, like John McCain, for example.

      Here in Louisiana, there is an exemption on (a whole lot) of the value of your home for property tax purposes.

      That is, the home you live in.  A lot of public figures have gotten in Dutch for taking the homestead exemption on expensive properties where they don't live.

      I don't know the law on federal mortgage deduction vis a vis multiple homes.  Anybody?
