  •  We went in early June to YS, in 1990 (5+ / 0-)

and there were not too many tourists, then.

The aspens would be lovely then, too.

But snow does worry me despite or because of being from MI...and ice on the roads with no guardrails as we did see, and a big deer beside the road in the mist which we thought was a "welcome to the park" sign until it put its head up. lololol

We got to park by a huge snowbank three times as high as our car at Lassen in July once and the road around Crater Lake had just opened.

Our tent got snowed on at Lassen in 1970 and we came out into bright sunshine the next morning blinking and wearing heavy coats and a TV crew started asking us how we liked it.

I had not had coffee, yet.  But we sat at the picnic table and pretended with our coffee pot.  I have no idea if we were on TV or not.  We were not that good looking at the best of times, only young.
