  •  It is negative thinking like this (0+ / 0-)

that will cause the depression.  When the market tanks, and the gov't collapses, you will have only yourself to blame.  Consider yourself warned. The pony you BBQ may be your own.

Who is responsible - me. I caused the Depression. I caused the banks to collapse.
If everyone in the entire country was happy and positive we would never have any economic problems.

It's also true that if you say people are dying in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, then it'll be all your fault the next time someone dies there. Do you really want to be responsible for all that carnage?

On a related note: People don't need "doomsayers" pronouncements on the web to make them feel like the economy sucks.

People are perfectly capable of figuring out that the economy sucks all on their own. It becomes kind of obvious, as they lose their homes and jobs; watch local businesses shut; pour ever-increasing amounts of money into debt service as their credit card companies jack interest rates, cap spending limits and more than double their minimum monthly payments; and as they are denied loans for housing, education, cars; etc.

Or you'll kill Tinkerbell and the recovery. ;)

What kind of sociopath are you, anyway?

There is a God, but he got an MBA. How else can you explain our world?

    •  Silliness. Prisoner's dilemma. (0+ / 0-)

No one person can reinflate the economy by happy thinking.  And if you try to, while the economy collapses, you will get extra screwed.  (Unless you're already in debt so deep it just doesn't matter to you.)

On the other hand, if the economy does go up, saving will put you at an advantage relative to everyone else.

So there's no personal profit in crazy optimism for anyone.  Even though if everyone was crazily optimistic it would help everyone.
