    Every society has taboo topics.  Almost all of them seem pretty silly when you think about it and almost all of them lead to real problems when people can't overcome the taboo and seek information.

    People say that America is hung up on sex, but people will share details of their sex lives with friends and even strangers long before they will share financial details.

      these days.  People talk about it all the time.  Watch TV shows about money.  They are obsessed about money.  They invest it with magical powers to make them superior, sexy, and beautiful.

        but how many people do you know will tell you their annual salary?  I bet you know a lot more details about your coworker's romantic lives than about their finances.

          consulting has led me conclude that the more they tell, the weirder they get.  And income level has nothing to do with how emotionally screwed up over money many are.
