    church regularly-more than most of my friends did.  Never once did I hear anyone there say that the theory of evolution was untrue.  As a matter of fact, I can remember seeing a chart of a drawing of a pre-historic man showing his evolution to humans in the form that we are now in one of the rooms that doubled as a Sunday School classroom.  It wasn't used in teaching our class, but apparently it was used and accepted for other purposes in the same church.

    IMHO, the only reason for the denial is that some groups revised the bible to suit their own interpretation and evolution as a fact disproves their interpretation.

      and I can make the same statement, unbelievable as it seems.  Of course that was before the 1979 Republican takeover of the convention.
