  •  roughly 90% of all mortality/morbidity benefits (7+ / 0-)

from state of the art medical tech and expertise can be attained by diligent application of first aid, sound nutrition and good hygiene.

But where's the percentage in "making" people know CPR, eat right and floss their teeth?

    That's totalitarianism. :)

Republicans hate excellent, efficient and affordable healthcare because it means having to wait longer for their inheritances.

As a Girl Scout leader and a camp staff member, I am required to be certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR. I have to recertify my CPR every year and my First Aid every three years. It has never been a hardship on me, and these certifications have been very useful to me on several occasions outside of Scouting. Personally, I don't think it's "totaliatarianism" for everyone to have at least a basic knowledge of First Aid/CPR. You never know when you may be the only thing standing between a person and serious injury.

I just thought I'd put in my 2 cents (or is it now $1, due to inflation?) ;D
