    pregnant. The Supremes upheld the law against third trimester (24+ weeks) abortions, except if health of mother at risk or fetal abnormalites. She wouldn't be able to get a late abortion in FL because there are only 2-3 physicians in the country that do late term abortions. One of those, as we now know, was Dr. George Tiller in Kansas murdered this summer.

      think she might be able to talk a doctor into doing it. Having to be on bedrest for that long means the mother's health is at risk. Being on bedrest puts her a greater risk, especially from blood clots.

      And my suspicion is she probably had no intention to seek one whatsoever. A lot of people when faced with something this drastic just need another person to do the evaluation and explain it again. By that time they may have had time to come up with ideas of how to cope. Although getting the childcare she needed would have been a whole mountain range.
