not the SEIU shirts but the ones that say something about healthcare? It appears a white guy with a mustache in a blue healthcare shirt attacked the guy on the ground and then vanished.
It appears the SEIU guy walked up after the white guy did a quick fade and Gladney and another black guy in a healthcare blue shirt were attempting to direct something when a white guy told them to move on.
I did not see the black guy even close to Gladney

It has that logo on the front, and SEIU on the back.

No matter HOW you view this, Having the SEIU show up, UNIFORMED, for these events was a HUGE mistake, and IMHO, was INTENDED to spark exactly these types of incidents.

      THIS WAS NOT SMART, FOLKS...

      •  then who is the white guy whom the other (1+ / 0-)

white guy is pointing at and yelling "you're going to jail"?

        •  It's really unclear from the video (0+ / 0-)

how the incident started.  At the opening of the clip, there is a black guy in an SEIU shirt laying on the ground and there are two or three people scuffling around him.  One of those scuffling is Gladney and the other is the SEIU guy who appears to be smoking a cigar.  The third person may be the elderly white woman who gets in the white SEIU guy's face after the white SEIU guy throws Gladney to the ground.

The teabaggers are accusing the SEIU guys of starting the fight, and the white guy yelling "you're going to jail" is pretty clearly one of the teabaggers.  The white SEIU guy comes back with a pretty bad counterargument ("he was attacking America"), so it's really unclear who pushed whom first.

What is clear from the video, though, is that the black SEIU was the first one to go down to the ground and the white SEIU shoved Gladney down to the ground after the black SEIU guy had already gone down.

The black SEIU guy's name must be "America".  Doesn't that make it all clear?

The man on the ground at the beginning of the video is apparently a pastor.  He is a black man in a blue shirt, who is holding his shoulder later in the video.  HE IS NOT THE man holding press conferences claiming to be be brutally beaten.

Just listened to the video with pro-audio quality headphones.

White Polo: You attacked that guy for nothing
Blue Shirt: No, I didn't attack him for nothing, he hit Elton.  Elton's a damn minister.

SO Elton is man on the ground at the beginning and the KEY question is how did he wind up on the ground.  Gladney's story is he was punched in the face and then kicked in the head.  Yet when the video is rolling the Elston is down and Gladney is standing. A few seconds later Gladeney is pulled away and down, but the blue shirt guy quoted above.  Both he and Gladney go down.  Gladney is down for two seconds and nobody kicks him.  This is sifiicant.   Notice that the guy screaming "you attacked him" doesn't start until Gladney is on the ground, he wasn't saying anything when Elston was on the ground.

              The other side?

But Elston McCowan, an SEIU staffer, said Gladney was actually an instigator. McCowan accused Gladney of attacking him as he walked to his car. McCowan said he suffered a dislocated shoulder.

"Out of nowhere, the guy just assaults me," said McCowan, 47, of St. Louis.

      •  And you somehow missed that the wingnuts (0+ / 0-)

        showed up in tan polos?

        So, what's the difference?

Why are you focusing on the SEIU people, yet the brown shirt wingnuts get a pass?

      •  I could be wrong, but this was an SEIU-sponsored (2+ / 0-)

event, and it's typical of event sponsors/volunteers to have some kind of identifying uniform on.

The event wasn't even supposed to be about healthcare, by the way!  It was supposed to be on aging issues.

I'm not concerned about the right's spin on this.  If they didn't have the SEIU "blue shirts" to blame it on, they'd make up some stupid shit about ACORN (an entity that I have never once encountered in over a year of Democratic activism, by the way).

      •  So, the blue tee shirts made them do it. Wow? (0+ / 0-)

Stop the appeasing. These people are brownshirts and they want stop their shit. I hope more of the people here, would go to townhalls and stop criticizing the ones who went. I will go to the next one scheduled in my area.

      •  SEIU hosted event, hey were not sent in nt (1+ / 0-)
