When you invite them to the table, they eat every thing on it.

They should not be a part of the negotiations, but by lobbying our elected officials and throwing the money around, that is exactly what is happening.  We knew this.

Now it remains to be seen just what those same lobbyists bought for us.

Thanks for the Bill Moyers info, the man is wonderful.

this way they are lobbying for health care reform rather than against it.  Seems that includes a public option.

Not "inviting" them would have ensured they lobby against it.

      •  That doesn't make it right. (0+ / 0-)

If they weren't allowed to buy their congress critters would they have the negotiating powers that they do?

        No, they would not.

Just because something is the status quo does not make it a decent and humane thing.

As for the public option, well that remains to be seen.

they will always be allowed. Write new laws and they find a new way, and those laws are guaranteed to have loopholes. As far as I can see they can't help but get what they want. They've been the only ones in the fight for generations.

and we continue to have bankruptcies and foreclosures, as well as increases in food insecurity, topped off with continued job losses, I guess we will all have the opportunity to see just how well that works out for them, won't we.

Maybe they will get so fat that someone will decide to fetch a fork and knife throw them in the pot and eat them for dinner.
