    but my yellow-and-flag comment was prompted by experience as a driver and concern for friends who bike.

    Bikers, and walkers, may not realize how hard to see they can be in shaded or dappled light. If they can see oncoming cars, they assume the cars can see them.

      I once got cut of by a guy who had bikes on a rack on the of his car . I caught up to him and told him he had no excuse .

      I feel that its not a matter of being or not being seen . People judge danger , and a bike is not danger . They act like they don't see but the deal is they don't feel danger .

        whether a driver can see a person on a bike or on foot at the side of a road under less-than-optimum lighting conditions. In dappled shade, it's sometimes very hard to see someone, whatever your other intentions toward him/her may or may not be.

        And a lot of people bike, or walk, in blissful ignorance of that.
