  •  An FYI for anyone going to Steve Rothman's (0+ / 0-)

    "Listening Sessions"/town halls.

I've been to many of these with Congressman Rothman, so I knew what to expect when I went to the one in Elmwood Park, last night (more on that in a bit)

When you come in, you will see his staffers walking around with sign in sheets.  It's very important to get one and fill it out with your questions.  You will not get a chance to speak, if he doesn't have a sheet for you.

He is taking questions from constituents FIRST.  He will answer additional questions from others, if there is time.  There won't be time, trust me.  The EP meeting was supposed to be over at 9pm.  At 9:30, he still had at least a 1 1/2 inch stack of constituent sheets to go through.

He did an excellent job of keeping order.  Signs are allowed.  Shouting out is not tolerated.

Get there early, or be prepared to stand.  Be prepared to endure the heat.  They had the a/c cranked up full on and it was roasting, anyway.  The Congressman's staff passed out water, of which I was very grateful.  It was warm, but at least it was wet.

And please, please go - especially if you live in the district.  These people ARE being organized and they far outnumber us.

I do think that Congressman Rothman knows that the people at that meeting last night DO NOT represent his district.

Dear conservatives, Please explain how my 40 year marriage will be damaged if gay couples are allowed to marry, 'cause I don't get that argument.
