saying because some podunk island somewhwere is minimally populated it doesn't need to adjust its carbon foot print along with everyone else, like China, India, Russhia, the US, etc, for the sake of correcting global warming.

The US may suffer relatively less because of population than other places, but there are so many other factors coming to a head all at once as well.

If everything that has gone before now is any indication, the leaders of the world are not concerned about over population, in favor of profit.  I doubt if anyone will be left to die over population's sake.  Profit's sake, maybe.

    •  Our hind-brains tell us to procreate, (0+ / 0-)

and to consume, and to hoard resources, and to kill those who impinge on our resources.

Our fore-brains tell us to knock it off.

It's a tug-o-war, and a push-me-pull-you.  But in the long run, the limbic system is still in the driver's seat.
