    will make it fly.

    •  That's religious nonsense. "Diversity" (0+ / 0-)

is not a power source. If,  we were like Brazil, which gets 70% of it's energy from hydro, 'diversity'  becomes irrelevant. Venezuela, Norway and Ecuador too are up to 80% of their power from hyrdo. One source, basically, and there is nothing wrong with that.

      •  There is nothing nonsensical about "diversity" (0+ / 0-)

What it boils down to is exploiting what you have. It happens that Norway and Ecuador are blessed with abundant hydro resources, so it is reasonable and practical that they are utilized. And, as for your comment about irrelevence re: Brazil, they acquire 70% from hydro, yet have a shortfall of 30% (a big number), which will have to be acquired from the "diversity" pool.
Please, no more talk about religious nonsense.

        •  Yes and no. Let me explain. (0+ / 0-)

Diversity as a practical solution is something I endorse 100%. Diversity as a goal is nonsense. That was my point.

Yes, Brazil has a hyrdo shortfall. It's being made up in three ways:

          1. expanded hydro.
          1. expanded nuclear (doubling to tripling what they have now)
          1. natural gas.
