    others.  Transmission lines do cost money, but it's more noticeably because the spending in concentrated on one project.  The lower efficiencies of distributed generation and storage get spread out over all the little tiny installations.

    If you talk about supplying power needed by the existing building infrastructure, the true costs of distributed renewables is several times that of utility scale CSP or wind even with building additional power lines.
