    people of faith do comprise the majority of Democrats and the base. the hardcore secular base is at most only 14% of the electorate, and Bush even increased his % of that vote by 4%. there are a bunch of moderate evangelicals who could be persuaded to vote Democrat if we get someone to speak to their faith: i.e. helping the poor is a huge thing, saving the environment, banning landmines. Democrats never even mention poverty fighting anymore. African Americans ain't gonna keep voting 90% Democrat unless you work damn hard, and the Party has not done much for them since the 60s. there is still residual goodwill but not among anyone under 35 in the hip hop generation.
