    god how i hate that book. almost as much as i hate the ecce romani series. if i ever hear the sentence puella sub arbore sedet or sextus est puer molestus again, i'll kill someone.

      Ecce Romani II has a nice plot, once they're in Rome and have all the tenses down.

    •  I've never cared for his book either (none)
      But from all I hear, it's tremendously popular. I think Miller is out of print now, though I can't imagine why: it was a solid text, if badly composed (in the printing sense, not the writing: the typefaces were horrific). It used selections from actual texts, rather than Wheelock's fantasy material, so you were actually reading real Latin and not something artificially composed to look like Latin. Still, cave ab homine unius libri!
