    individual marginal tax rates.

Nothing needs investigating. Next year nobody will be paid more than a few million a year when their companies have to write checks for $100 million so that $90 million will go the treasury.

We can move forward, we don't need to worry management about political persecution.

    •  I'll take Clinton-era top marginal rates (8+ / 0-)

Whatever Clinton was doing gave us a friggin' surplus, so he must have been doing something right.

He was to blame!  For everything.  Can't you just see wingnuts 15 years from now parroting the same old bullshit but replacing the word "Clinton" with "Obama"?

        •  They're already doing it now (0+ / 0-)

Except with twice the hysteria as they did in 1993.

Clinton governed from the center and achieved several important alleged Republican goals including shrinking the size of government, reforming welfare, and balancing the budget. Not all of this was a bright idea (such as repealing Glass-Stegall), but you would think Republicans at least wouldn't have hated him.  However, except for a Joe Lieberman applause line, the Republicans have shown Clinton nothing but contempt.

That's the difference between Republicans and Democrats. Democrats will bend over backwards to get Republicans to work with them and be on their side. Republicans won't work with Democrats, even when Democrats propose an idea that most Republicans support.  Barack Obama could adopt Jim DeMint's health care plan as his own and DeMint would STILL be looking for Obama's Waterloo.
