    for the Contract on America.  Especially in tough times like these just stomping up and down yelling NO is not going to go far with voters.  Just look at the Reps favs as of today.  Dont seem that tactic is working too hot for them.

      The GOP won over anger to Clinton. The Contract on America helped but the GOP would have won anyway. Most voters in 1994 took their anger against Clinton. They were voting against the Democrats, not necessarily for the Republicans.

        because as I remember it those who came out to vote in 1994 did so not simply with an anti-clinton bent but also because they thought they were sitting the country on the right track in light of the "principles" spoused by Rep candidates (who were doing nothing more than parroting the Contract on America).
