I will not accept anything less than a public option.  Without a public option, the other improvements will only mean that insurance will cost more for people with pre-existing conditions- for instance.

That said, it is the duty of the leader of the Dems in the legislature to be saying that they will go it alone.  That person is in charge of the party's response and demeanor.  The President should still be saying that we want to continue in a bipartisan fashion.

I have no problem with Obama continuing to say that bipartisan is the best way to go.  He can demonstrate the problems that Republicans are causing by continuing to say that we want a bipartisan effort while they make it clear that they are not trying to be part of the solution.

Medicare for All Who Want It - Starting Right Away

Solves it all. Covers the uninsured. Provides real competition to the insurance companies.

We need two lists: those we will work to elect and those we will defeat. If you're not progressive, you're not a Democrat.

What I will accept is different from what I want.

I want my kid to get all A's, I will accept mostly A's.

Obviously, these are not comparable situations, but I do not always get what I want, so I have to understand that there is a lower level that is what I will accept.
