    I know that LBJ was a powerful Majority Leader.  But, in this case, it's not clear how any particular outcome is really in Reid's interests.  He will let Dodd decide for himself, since it doesn't matter a whole lot to Reid (or Obama) either way.

    I think that institutionally, people would like to give Lincoln a boost, but I don't know how internal agriculture debates go.  

    The only place where Obama might have a strong opinion in on Tim Johnson taking over the Banking Committee.  But how do you edge out a stroke victim?

    No, I think the members will resolve this among themselves, and under these circumstances I don't think LBJ would do anything different.
