  •  the one percent (0+ / 0-)

tax would go ito the premium pool. figure a hundred million (100,000,000) people paying an average of $400 a year.  Multiply that out and you have forty billion dollars.  That's just to pay the premiums.  Insurance companies will be clamoring for even a ten percent share of that pie but we won't give it to them unless they lower the cost so that that's the only premium paid...if that makes sense

    •  In other words, you don't know. n/t (0+ / 0-)
    •  That's not nearly enough to pay for health care (0+ / 0-)

for 100 million people unless the insurance is so bad that it's useless.  You'd need outside funding.  Keep in mind that health care spending is something like $6000 per person right now.  I don't know the exact number but it's somewhere in that vicinity.  Even if we could cut that in half (which would be reducing it below countries such as Canada and Germany), we would still need to come up with around $3000 per person.  Your premiums are an order of magnitude too small.

      •  Well, you can't blame a guy (0+ / 0-)

for having ideas...maybe they can be adapted into something workable...who knows...
