  •  You're doing it again! (12+ / 0-)

Asking that republicans "allow" democrats to have their own response to Kennedy's death.  As if Kennedy could ever hold a candle to bonnie Ronnie who did soooooooooooooooo much for soooooooooo few rich people.

    •  Here's a big middle finger to their concern (10+ / 0-)

Where is their concern for all the people Teddy spent his life trying to help?

It is up to us now. RIP, Teddy.

It's pretty much all they know.  I still recall Newt effectively blaming the Dems for the woman in SC who drove her kids into a lake in the mid-1990s.

At some point, the Dems have to stand up on their own 2 feet and call the GOP out for this s**t.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I see things that never were and ask why not?

Looks like I'll be in Bingaman's office on Monday morning.  I haven't been following this as closely as you are.  What should I say in the few moments I'll get?  (I'm going with someone else, someone with different issues, who made the appointment.)

You could tell him a doctor friend of yours is fighting a losing battle in ABQ to get care for many of his patients who have junk insurance that they can't afford to use, and that that's increasingly the only kind of private insurance people can find anymore.

You could tell him a personal story about trouble with health care access from your family or circle of friends.

You could tell him that people you talk to are wise to the influence of lobbyists on the Hill, and won't forgive Democrats if they don't choose the people over the lobbyists.

You could also thank him for his firm support for the public option in his recent ABQ town hall, and remind him that the overwhelming support for the public option in that hall is reflective of the state and the country at large.  Poll after poll have shown that.

Whatever you say, please diary it here, OK?

It is up to us now. RIP, Teddy.

... rather than to the Senator himself.  That's who the appointment is with.  (Though I guess ya never know.)  And I feel entirely unqualified to add much to the discussion diary-wise.  Everything has all been said, and by people who have been following it all in great detail.

Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall always be amused.
