    Texas has a franchise tax, which is an income tax on businesses.

    It does not, however, have a personal income tax.

      I've never owned or run a business, only worked for them.

      And most of the anti-taxers who move to this state don't start businesses either.

      They move here for the same reason they move to Washington State or Florida: no personal income tax. That's why I made the point. Perry's quote didn't say anything about "income" -- he just said we have "low taxes."
