reform too?  So African American Republican idiots like Steele could still be drinking from their own water fountains to this very day?  While they insult the liberals who made sure civil rights reform legislation passed in 1964?  Who insult the very Great Society legislation that enable them to rise to the elite political and punditry class?

I thought I was voting for an INDUSTRIAL AREAS FOUNDATION SAUL ALINSKY SOUTH SIDE OF CHICAGO ORGANIZER.

I was wrong.  It looks like I voted for just another politician.

Incrementalism was the argument that racist Republicans and Dixiecrats used for years to stall civil rights legislation. The idea that a little bit of reform now is good enough.  That something is better than nothing.  It isn't, in cases of injustice against a class of people.  And it's the argument that Blue Dogs are using right now against the public option.

I am guessing you don't remember civil rights reform.  African Americans have always had the right to go where everyone else goes and do what everyone else does all over the United States in your lifetime, but they weren't allowed to do so until 1964.

And if it had been left to conservative Republicans and Dixiecrats and incrementalism, they still wouldn't be allowed to do so, and conservative Republican Michael Steele would not be head of the Republican Party and free to insult the liberals who helped make it possible for him to be there.

Hope that's a little clearer for you.
