Great diary! It is a great read, and it is good to hear that people are serious about making space travel and research in space more affordable.  Not that 'single digit millions' is cheap, but, it would be a huge improvement over today's costs.

That's a pool, and the watery rectangle is an underwater picture window looking out over the Austin hill country just outside City Park, off of 2222. Click on the image to see the large version in context and other cool stuff.

when it comes to bringing the costs down.  I am right there with you, about wanting it much cheaper, but gotta start somewhere.

I really believe it is a matter of 'when' and not 'if' for the costs to come down. I just hope a lot of cool stuff happens in my lifetime!

One of the things about space exploration that I really appreciate is that it inspires an interest in science and technology based on peaceful use of technology.

I actually took computer classes in 5th grade (pull out program) at the ComputerLand in Clear Lake where Garriot used to work. I think he left right after I got there, but that was back in '79-80. :) (this one class pretty much made me an Apple fan for life :))
