my problem with Paul, which I am confronting him about, started here with his belittling of the Palestinian right of return, and it's part of the reason why I uprated sorta's comment from last night.

That was an incredibly offensive and insensitive way of dismissing one of the most serious concerns of the Palestinian people, and such an attitude wouldn't have been tolerated by the vast majority of Jewish users if the issue was one of importance to them.

Doesn't mean it isn't true. Reality is a bitch.

why not take it down a few notches? please?

unspeakable is probably one of the fairest people in these threads, and while i don't always agree with him - from what i have seen, he is always respectful. and thus far, likewise even though we may not always agree (gasp!) you have always shown me respect.

as to the reality of the situation, you may be right on how the right of return is quite a sticking point, do you not see how the manner in which you have phrased things might have been different?

either way - i hope you can look at things a bit differently... thanks for listening.

about unspeakable, who I think very highly of, and of this thread from more than 6 weeks ago, which he brings up now, out of the blue. Yeah, I put it bluntly and insensitively, but there is truth to it. I don't think there's a pleasant, happy way to say that in the past 60 years, Israel has become a very very different place from how it was in 1947, and would probably be completely unrecognizable to even those who were actually there 60 years ago.

and I can't believe I actually just chuckled along with Chris Day.

      That's how bad it was.
