    "hidden meaning" things, with multiple layers to keep the ignorant in the dark. And even in the 70s and 80s, California was a bit looser in terms of acceptance of gays, and Woz and Jobs were very Californian. (And remember that Apple Inc. was one of the larger contributors to the NO on 8 campaign last fall; high-tech has long been a place where no one cares who you sleep with as long as your damn program doesn't crash.)

    Civility is the way of telling someone to go fuck themselves in such a way that the someone agrees it probably is a good idea.

      I just posted below a link to and quote from an interview with the guy who actually designed the logo, and he says he didn't know anything about the Turning story until after it was done. He actually knew nothing about computers or technology, he's a graphic designer and created the logo from the perspective. And he notes in the interview, he is aware now that the truth is disappointing for those who would like to believe it was deeper than that.
