      According to the United States Census Bureau, in 2007 there were 45.7 million people in the US (15.3% of the population) who were without health insurance for at least part of that year.[1]

      22 percent of the uninsured, or 9 million are illegal immigrants.

      Another 8 million live in households making more than 75,000 a year.
