This is not and has never been a place of groupthnk, but rather of contention. The SYFPH episode was essentially when certain loud & prominent folks expressed their displeasure with the simple fact that this is not a very groupthinky place. Thankfully, even after the spectre of shout-dwon censorship attempted to raise it's head, this continued to be a place with a diverse range of (sometimes annoying) voices.

Let's stop worrying about who will lead us in 2008 and instead work on who we'll be in 2005.

huh, otherwise, what's the point of contention?

      ;)

The place can fall into groupthinky phases and factions, but never one giant one (those closest it ever came was in the early Dean days, but even then there were folks holding out.)

As someone who always seems to be on the outside of every dKos inside issue, I'm still here after 2+ years.  I'm the one who argues that Howard Dean isn't anti-war, and they still let me "talk".  That doesn't mean they listen, but if I can survive here, groupthink is not a pandemic, just an annoying seasonal bug.

upon the announcement of your appoinment to the front page, such appointment is evidence that this place is not moving toward groupthink.

I didn't read diaries or make comments here until after the Iowa caucus, so I don't recall the most contentious Dean v. Clark period or the huge pro-Dean groupthink period. Over the past 10 months, I've seen little but contention though. And that's a good thing.

Wolf Blitzer and Andrea Mitchell say he is, despite everything Howard himself says? If CNN sayeth so, it must be so ...

        anti-this war, maybe ...

now, can I hijack this thread and talk about how wonderful Howard is? ;)
