    that the fact that the president is Barack Hussein Obama is an affront to them, personally. They think that's okay.
    I've been thinking a lot lately about one of Mark Twain's immortal characters, Huckleberry Finn's loathsome, brutal, drunken father, Pap. In the novel, Pap once unloads a peroration about an "uppity" black man he ran across, a free man, a well-dressed well-educated man who was able to vote when he was at home. Well, the fact that this black man was a voter just drove Pap into near apoplexy, and he declared that on the strength of that, he himself was through with voting forever.
    I'm afraid that Pap has many descendants in spirit and idiocy in this country, and no offense offered to President Obama will be too much for them.
